About FLOISSAC, DUBOULAY & THOMAS

Our Story

FLOISSAC FLEMING & ASSOCIATES, originally formed as Floissac & Giraudy in 1960, celebrated its 60th year of legal service in 2020. The firm was forged from the partnership between The Right Honourable Sir Vincent Floissac P.C. C.M.G. Q.C LL.M (Lond.), former Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court and Privy Councillor, and Henry Giraudy Q.C., who is still recognized as one of St. Lucia’s greatest advocates. Building on the strong foundation set by Sir Vincent and Henry, Sir Vincent’s daughter, Brenda Floissac-Fleming, and her partner, Geoffrey Du Boulay, grew the firm to an impressive 8 attorney complement. The firm, although particularly regarded for its commercial and banking practice, had a reputation for providing high quality legal services across the full breadth of civil practice.

DETERVILLE, THOMAS & CO commenced business as a full-service law firm on 5th January 2014. The firm was founded by Hilford Deterville, Q.C. and Diana Thomas to give personalized service to all its clients – from the grandmother walking off the street to international clients and some of the largest organizations in St. Lucia. The firm maintained a strong regional profile and regularly consulted with Gregory Delzin (Trinidad) and Justin Simon QC (Antigua & Barbuda). Prior to founding the firm, the late Hilford Deterville, Q.C., was the principal of Caribbean Law Offices and Deterville & Associates which made an indelible mark on the practice of law in St. Lucia by its role in the training and tutelage of over 30 Caribbean lawyers, including several notable St. Lucia lawyers.
